How counts are calculated
Words are runs of letters or numbers, so "don't" and "e-mail" count as one word. Reading time assumes 238 words per minute (a typical adult silent reading speed) and speaking time 150 words per minute.
Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you paste is uploaded, logged or stored on a server, so it's safe to use with private data.
