QR code generator

Make a QR code for a link, Wi-Fi network, email or any text. Download it as a PNG. No sign-up and no tracking redirects.

Static QR codes, no middleman

Many "free" QR generators encode their own short link that redirects to yours, so they can track scans or switch the code off later. stackbite codes contain your actual content, so they work forever and nobody can see when they're scanned.

Tips for codes that scan reliably

  • Keep strong contrast: dark code on a light background. Inverted codes fail on some phones.
  • Leave the white border (quiet zone) around the code.
  • Shorter content makes a simpler, easier-to-scan code. Shorten long URLs first.
  • Print at least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 inches), larger for posters scanned from a distance.
  • Choose a higher error correction level if the code might get scratched or partly covered.

Wi-Fi QR codes

Choose Wi-Fi and enter the network name and password. Guests point their camera at the code to join without typing. The password is stored inside the code itself, so only share it where you'd share the password.

Questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The content is stored in the code itself, with no redirect service in between, so it works forever.

Can I track scans?

Not with a static code. To count scans, point the code at a URL with tracking parameters, such as ?utm_source=poster.
